Dr. Pennington is the BEST! Genuinely cares about the animals. We recently switched all three dogs from NEVCC. Tuesday we had to put our senior Lab down and Pennington was so awesome explaining everything and helping us make the best decision and feeling confident in that decision. Highly recommend!

The only vet for my fur baby. Dr P is familiar with her lineage back to her grandfather and most of her local family (she is a Fidelco GSD). Awesome gentle nature with her, great staff (they even got her to and from the car for me when I was in a cast), excellent care with reasonable cost.

This is a good place to bring your pets. We had 3 dogs all came here into there golden years and the vet was amazing when it came time to say goodbye to our babies. We now have 4 more that come here and I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. They treat you and your pets like family! Amazing place I love it!

    COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT

We are still planning to reopen our office on Friday, April 3rd. We have made some changes so that we can still offer our services and maximize safety for everyone. Until it is safe to conduct in-person appointments, Dr. Pennington can meet with you via FaceTime. For non urgent cases he will be able to speak to you face to face, observe your pet, and guide you through the diagnostic and therapeutic care for your pet. Drugs can be purchased through our online store, picked up at the clinic at our front door or the Rx filled at a local pharmacy.
Obviously some patients will need to be seen for emergencies or more urgent care and we would direct you to the local emergency clinics for prompt service. We will intend to offer curbside service for scheduled appointments from our parking lot starting Friday, April 3rd, unless there are anymore changes. Please see our Facebook posts or go to our website, thewindsoranimalclinic, to review the protocol on how we will be handling these examinations.
You can call us at (860)688-4969 or email us at windsoranimalclinic@hotmail.com
to schedule an appointment or to have your questions answered. We understand that these times are stressful for everyone and your pets............we are here to help.
    Stay safe!

Thanks for the update. And thank you for being the #1 pet loving vet office around 🙂

    Dear Friends and Clients,

As of today March 20th, Unfortunately we are having to close our doors during these extraordinary circumstances. It is with a heavy heart and a lot of thought that I had to make the decision to close our doors temporarily in order to keep ourselves and clientele safe from this virus.

For pharmaceutical and prescription food needs we have an online pharmacy on our website at thewindsoranimalclinic.com or you can email us.

We hope to reopen in two weeks but will keep you updated. We want to thank everyone for their loyalty and patronage.

    Stay healthy!

    ~~March 19th, 2020-UPDATED HOSPITAL PROTOCOL~~

    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Curbside Care. (**See below on how this works!) To eliminate possible transfer of Covid-19, our hospitals will be open, but our waiting rooms will be closed with front doors locked. You can call us from your car when you arrive at our hospitals, and we will either come out to get your pet, or we will bring you the food or medications that you need.

Instructions for Curbside Care will be posted on our front doors.

We will be available during all of our regular hours--We are in the buildings, so if you need food or medication, please call.

Curbside Care will be for urgent, emergent, or sick patients only. We are NOT going to schedule routine care while the state of emergency is in effect

    Curbside Care Protocol:

Call for an appointment. In fact, call if you just need food or a prescription refill. When in doubt, please call us so we can tell you how best to proceed.

When you arrive in our parking lot, call us from your cell phone. (If you don't have a cell phone, knock or buzz at front door.)

One of our technicians will come to get your pet to bring them outside to bring your pet inside the hospital-- we will have you remain in your car. CATS MUST BE IN CARRIERS--NO EXCEPTIONS, AND DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH! (Exception to owners staying in car will only be for euthanasia).

Once inside, our staff will call you to take a history. You can remain on the phone while the doctor examines your pet and makes a recommendation.

Your pet will be returned to you, our front office will call for your credit card number, you will get your medications, and then be on your way!

If you cannot remember these steps, they are listed on our door at each location.

We recognize there has been a fair bit of stress created by the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to do all we can to be a supportive voice during this challenging time. We will continue to make every effort to provide you and your pets the best care possible.

    Thank you for this!

Safety is our number one concern and in light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to reach out to our loyal clientele and apprise you of the cautionary steps we are taking at the Windsor Animal Clinic to insure everyone’s protection. We aim to continue our high standards of practice with the necessary cleanliness required and are continually disinfecting daily, particularly in the high-traffic areas.
For anyone that has major health concerns, is immune compromised or prefers social distancing we will offer curbside service and parking lot assistance for check-ins. We have a small waiting room and will do all that we can to avoid congestion, especially during the busy times. This check-in service would require you to call the front desk when you’ve arrived, and a staff member will come to your car, retrieve the pet’s history, and bring the patient in for evaluation. During the exam and by giving us your cell phone number the doctor and staff can FaceTime with you while you remain in your vehicle. We can discuss the case and your pet’s care in real time as it unfolds and answer your immediate questions.
Once completed, a staff member will head outside and reunite the patient to you. All billing will be handled over the phone. . Please be sure to discuss this type of check-in with our staff members if interested.
While we are trying to protect our clients and staff from any accidental or unsuspecting exposure, we would ask that anyone with respiratory symptoms or fever, has recently traveled to a high risk country or been exposed to COVID-19, to please reschedule your pet’s appointment. We will do our best to accommodate you in a prompt fashion for another time.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make any necessary adjustments and keep you abreast.
We thank you for your continued business with us and for allowing us to care for your pets!
