Protecting Your Companions

Parasites are a common cause of disease in dogs and puppies, cats and kittens. Prevention and parasite control of diseases is accomplished through the use of medications, proper sanitation, grooming and preventing contact with infected animals.

Dogs and puppies, cats and kittens are frequently infected with internal parasites including various worms, coccidia and giardia. Dewormings are often necessary and monthly preventative tablets are routinely given to prevent the most common worms along with the  mosquito-borne disease, Canine Heartworm Disease.

External parasites can also be irritating and debilitating for your pet. These include fleas, ticks, ear mites, Sarcoptes mange mites, and Demodectic mange mites. Often these skin parasites can be successfully prevented and treated with monthly pills and sometimes an every 3 month pill and even monthly topical medications that are put on the animal's neck or back.
